Brief History of Buenos Aires(Reads: 3305, 12-Ago-2008)Some say Amerigo Vespucci first discovered the Rio de la Plata at the turn of the 16th century, others say his explorations merely served to inspire others but for sure the first Spanish explorers landed on the banks of the Rio de la Plata in 1516 though the first settlement wasn’t established until 1536, of which very little remains today.
