Just 10 km south of Villa General Belgrano is the popular tourist destination Santa Rosa de Calamuchita, particularly fashionable with those looking for various outdoor activities such as kayaking, jet-skiing and diving. Santa Rosa lies in the Valle de Calamuchita otherwise known as the Valle Azul de los Grandes Lagos (Blue Valley of Large Lakes) with the Sierra Chicas (small) to the east and the Sierras Grandes, often referred to as the Comechingones, to the west, home to Cerro Champaqui, which at 2,900 metres is the highest in province of Cordoba.

Santa Rosa’s beautiful old church was constructed in 1700 in honour of the patron saint Santa Rosa de Lima. In the Museo de Historia y Arqueologia the history of the area is recounted back from when hunter gatherers and nomadic tribes lived here to the small agricultural villages which later sprang up throughout the valley, while the Museo de Arte Religioso Santa Rosa de Lima details the history of the town itself.
