During the rest of the year it’s a relatively peaceful town. It boasts plenty of beaches, a lovely riverside park and a multitude of restaurants. Gualeguaychu also has a few museums including the Museo de la Ciudad, which tells the city’s history inside an attractive old colonial building, and the Museo Azotea de Lapalma, formerly the Italianate residence of the Lapalma family built in 1830. Less than 35 km south of town is the Libertador General San Martin bridge which crosses over to the town of Fray Bentos in Uruguay. And some 100 km south of Gualeguaychu is the village of Villa Paranacito situated in a delta where the houses are constructed on stilts. Near here there are a few eco communities which welcome tourists to share their tranquil way of life. More Articles in Gualeguaychu
