Venado Tuerto

(Number of Articles Reads in Venado Tuerto: 0)

Venado Tuerto, founded in 1884 by Eduardo Casey, the son of wealthy Irish immigrants, is some 160 km west of the city of Rosario in the province of Santa Fe. It has a lovely shady central square, Plaza San Martin, which is overlooked by the Catedral Inmaculada Concepcion, the unusual Iglesia Evangelica Metodista Argentina and the Centro Cultural Municipal. Inside the cultural centre you’ll find the Feria de los Artesanos Venadenses where you can purchase local handicrafts. Also opposite the plaza is the Museo Regional y Archivo Historico “Cayetano Alberto Silva” which recounts the history of the city. It is housed in the former home of the Uruguayan musician and composer hence the name. Some five kilometres from town is the Estancia La Victoria which boasts a French-style mansion surrounded by a small park dotted with sculptures.
