Getting to Mburucuyá

(Reads: 629, since 10-Jun-2009)

If you’ve rented a car there are several routes you can take to the Parque Nacional Mburucuyá but probably the most direct route from Corrientes is to take the Ruta 12 and then follow the unpaved Ruta 10/11 to the small village of Mburucuya itself or alternatively continue on the Ruta 12 to the paved Ruta 13. From there you can access the park on the Ruta Provincial 86, which is sometimes impassable after rain so it's important to call ahead about road conditions. From Misiones province, turn off the Ruta 12 for the Ruta 118, and then take the Ruta 5 until you see signs for Palmar Grande on the Ruta 86. Or you can take a bus from Corrientes to the village of Mburucuyá, which takes around three hours. From there, it’s another 30 minutes by remise to the park’s visitor centre from where you can access the two trails.
