Some 70 km north of the city of Parana is the small port of La Paz, a popular fishing town which not only hosts the Fiesta Provincial del Surubi in April but the Fiesta Provincial del Dorado in September. The town has some lovely old houses interspersed with more modern buildings. On the banks of the Rio Parana is an attractive old mansion which now houses the Museo Regional de La Paz Alicia Gonzalez Castrillon in the Parque Beron de Astrada. It has information on the history and development of the town while the Museo Municipal de Bellas Artes exhibits the works of local artists. To the south of town is the Parque de la Adventura. Here you can walk or cycle the circuit and take in local flora and fauna.
