(Reads: 340, since 16-Ene-2010)

Santiago del Estero’s Museo de Ciencias Antropologicas y Naturales Emilio y Duncan Wagner dates back to 1917 when a large collection of artefacts was donated by Doctor Alejandro Gancedo and later added to by the French Wagner brothers after who the museum now takes its name. The museum now houses an eclectic collection of pre-Colombian objects, particularly pottery in the form of funereal urns and large plain pots, as well as textiles and crafts, stuffed armadillos and old axe heads, not to mention various other anthropological objects. The museum is on Avellaneda 355 and opens from Mon-Fri  8am-12pm and 2pm-8pm. Tel: +54 (0) 385 421 1380.
