An increasingly popular holiday destination among wealthy Argentines, the pretty sprawling resort town of Villa La Angostura lies on the northern shores of Lago Nahuel Huapi. It is full of stylish restaurants and luxurious accommodation. Nearby at the end of the Quetrihue Peninsula is the Parque Nacional Los Arrayanes and its forest of arrayanes, with their twisting trunks and burnt-orange powdery peeling bark.
