(Reads: 765, since 02-Jun-2009)

In the small village of Amaicha del Valle in the province of Tucuman is the Complejo de Museos Pachamama, a collection of small museums created by well-known Argentine artist and sculptor Héctor Cruz. Besides its huge stone mosaics, which feature various figures - among them the Pachamama (Mother Earth), the Inti (Sun) and Quilla (moon) - there are some fine archeological displays and information about the cultural traditions of the local indigenous people. There are also paintings, tapestries and pottery designed by Cruz himself and a shop selling an array of locally-produced craftwork. The Complejo de Museos Pachamama, Ruta Provincial 307 km 164, Amaicha del Valle, Tucumán, tel: +54 (0) 3892 421004. Open Mon-Sat 8am-1pm and 2pm-6pm, Sun 9am-1pm and 2pm-5pm.
