The Aeropuerto Internacional Martin Miguel de Guemes is 10 km south of the city on Ruta 51. Shuttle buses run between the airport and town (AR$8) as well as taxis (AR$15).

Aerolineas Argentinas operates daily flights from Buenos Aires to Salta.

By Bus
Salta’s bus terminal is on Avenida Hipolito Yrigoyen near Parque San Martin. Tel: +54 (0) 387 401 1143. The journey to Salta by bus from Buenos Aires takes around 20 hours. Several bus companies operate daily services to the city, including La Veloz del Norte (tel: +54 [0] 11 4315 0800), TAC (tel: +54 [0] 11 4312 7012 and Nueva Chevallier (tel: +54 [0] 11 4000 5255). The buses normally travel on farther north to the city of Jujuy.

By Car
Some 1,500 km separate the cities of Buenos Aires and Salta. The journey takes over 16 hours and passes through some breathtaking scenery.
