Some 20km from the pretty Swiss-style town of San Martin de los Andes is Cerro Chapelco which, with its good snow quality and fabulous scenery overlooking Lago Lacar and Volcan Lanin, is a quaint quieter alternative to Cerro Catedral. Chapelco has 12 lifts and 31 ski runs of all levels. As well as a snowboard park, there are snowmobile tours and Siberian-husky-pulled sleds.
