The city of Buenos Aires has two airports: some 80 per cent of international flights arrive to Ministro Pistarini International Airport at Ezeiza (airport code EZE), some 35 km from Buenos Aires and a 40-minute taxi ride. You’ll find the official taxi stand just through from customs, approximately $64 pesos (US$20).
It’s also possible to catch local bus 86 into town, but it’s painfully slow - almost two hours - and leaves from outside the Aerolineas Argentinas terminal. Alternatively the bus company Manuel Tienda Leon runs airport shuttle buses every 30 minutes and charges $40 pesos. Tel: +54 (0) 11 4314 3636 or visit its website (English and Spanish). Buses also leave for the domestic terminal if you’re flying to somewhere else in Argentina before visiting Buenos Aires.
Most domestic flights leave from Aeroparque Jorge Newbery just 4 km north of the city centre next to the river, a 20-minute taxi ride. Manual Tienda Leon shuttle buses charge $14. Otherwise you can take local bus 33 into town for a few pesos less, but local buses might not necessarily be such a good idea if you have cumbersome backpacks or suitcases. If you have any enquiries you can call: +54 (0) 11 5480 6111 or see the website for both airports at AA2000. Tourist information kiosks are open daily from 10am-5pm.
