It’s amazing to think that such a prominent and charismatic first lady, who died in 1952, had no museum dedicated to her memory before 2002. Finally the Museo Evita, which is housed in an attractive residence that had been bought back in 1948 by the Eva’s Social Aid Foundation to serve as a shelter for homeless families, was inaugurated to coincide with the 50th anniversary of her death. The museum traces her life through various displays which include some of her sumptuous dresses, photographs, magazine articles and important quotes from her speeches as well as from La Razon de mi Vida (My Mission in Life), her autobiography published in 1951.
