Escorihuela Winery

(Reads: 1630, since 25-Nov-2008)

Escorihuela is the oldest and most famous bodega in Mendoza. It is also the closest to the city, just two kilometres south of the centre on Belgrano 1188 and Presidente Alvear in Godoy Cruz. The winery was originally founded by Spanish immigrants in 1884 and many of the old buildings still stand. Its vast cellars house an enormous and ornately-carved oak barrel from Nancy in France. Escorihuela also boasts an art gallery and one of the country’s finest restaurants 1884 Francis Mallman run by the famous chef himself. Reservations recommended. Tel: +54 (0) 261 424 2698. Winery tours run from Mon-Fri every hour starting from 9.30am to 12.30pm and 2.30pm-3.30pm. Tel: +54 (0) 261 424 2744. www.escorihuela.com.ar.
