Two blocks west of Plaza San Martin on Avenida General Paz 33 is the Museo de Bellas Artes Dr Genaro Perez. This French-style mansion was constructed for Dr Tomas Garzon in the late 19th century. It’s worth coming here not just for the 19th and 20th-century gallery of Cordoban paintings but for the house itself which was meticulously restored in the 1990s. Many of the paintings on display belong to Genaro Perez, hence the museum’s name, who headed up the Escuela Cordobesa. Other artists include Emilio Caraffa, Fidel Pelliza and Jose Aguilera.
