The city of Buenos Aires can be stiflingly hot and humid from December through to March, which also coincides with the period when most portenos, not surprisingly, take their summer vacation, particularly the month of January. In the winter, from July to October, it can get quite chilly and has even been known to snow on occasions although it is quite unusual. The most pleasing weather is undoubtedly in spring from September through November and in autumn from April to June.
